Look at the picture.  Where are these children?  What are they doing?  What will they do next?  What else could they do here?

3rd-5th 
Think about the above questions but put your answer into compound and complex sentence form.  Use your senses ( sight, smell, touch, hearing) to describe in detail what you see.  Practice telling a story about this photo to someone in your home.
 
6th-12th
Middle school and high school could practice this in preparation for TELPAS ( Yes- you may get out of it this year but we will eventually have to do it!❤️)
K-2
What is this raccoon doing?  Why do you think it is hanging?  How do you think the raccoon feels?  Have you ever seen a raccoon?  Where was it?
 
3rd-5th
Describe the picture using compound and complex sentences while answering some of the above questions.  Make sure to think out your answer before you speak.  Tell your answer to someone in your home practicing your e
English skills.
 
6th-12th 
Practice describing the picture as if you were talking to your teacher.  This is an excellent time to think through your answer using compound and complex sentences and practicing any academic vocabulary you may know about animals from a science class.
K-2
What is happening in this picture?  Why is the girl covering her sister’s eyes?  What is the father holding?  What does it do?
 
3rd-5th
Practice using compound and complex sentences to create a short story describing the picture.  Don’t forget to name the people in the picture (the family, mom, dad, siblings...). 

6th-12th
Use effective vocabulary to describe this picture including the use of a simile to make your story have more depth.  
K-2
What insect do you see here?  What is it doing?  What else do bees do?  Do you like bees?  Why or why not?  Did you know Mrs. Tate raises honey bees?
 
3rd-5th
Use some academic vocabulary (science words) to describe what the bees in the picture are doing.  Are bees important?  Defend your answer.  Google honey bees and find out what they do for the world. 
K-2

while answering the above questions really think about the use of sensory words to describe how things feel and smell.  What would the firefighters be thinking?  How long does it take to put out a large fire?  Google firefighting and find out what types of firefighters there are and how long it takes to become one.
