I am so excited about this year! I know it will be great. : )
I can't wait to learn more about you and your children. Meanwhile, I want to share a little about me. I grew up in Lufkin, Tx., went to school at SFA, and then lived in the DFW area until last summer 2022, when my husband retired from 30 years of teaching and we moved to "God's Country" (East Texas). We live in Bullard, and we are enjoying the small-town life.
I am married with a grown step-daughter, whom I love dearly. We don't have any pets currently, but we consider ourselves to be "Cat People."
I have been teaching 10 years (This will be my 11th), and I substituted for 3 years before that. I love younger children, because they give me such joy! I have been involved in some way with kids since I myself was a kid - from babysitting, helping with VBS, overnight babysitting, helping establish a Special Needs class at my church, helping at Brain Injury Camp, and then subbing and teaching. I've worked with children from babies to high school age, and I love them all.
The most important things to me are my faith, my family, "my kids" (all of my current and former students), and of course my friends. Other than that, my "Happy Place" is at the beach, and I hope to retire there someday. I also enjoy reading, cooking, crafting, and spending time with my family.
