Mrs. Lightfoot – 4th Grade Reading & Social Studies

Welcome! I’m Mrs. Lightfoot, and I teach 4th grade Reading and Social Studies here at Troup ISD. This is my 8th year in education and my second year as a proud member of the Troup Tiger family.

I studied Elementary Education at Texas A&M University—Whoop! I’ve always had a deep love for reading and Texas history, so teaching these subjects is a true joy for me. I believe in helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers by making learning fun, imaginative, and meaningful.

I grew up in San Antonio (yes, I do remember the Alamo!), and I love sharing the rich stories and lessons from Texas history with my students. Outside the classroom, I enjoy camping with my family—our goal is to visit every Texas state park before our oldest graduates! I also love painting, disc golfing with my husband and kids, and spending time with our dog, Camo.

I believe our classroom is a team. When we work together with respect, effort, and curiosity, amazing growth can happen. I look forward to a great year of learning and adventure!
