Mrs. Brown's Dyslexia Classroom

My name is Lisa Brown and I am one of the Dyslexia Therapist at Troup Elementary School. I started teaching in 2003 after being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years.  I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th grades.  I began my adventure into Dyslexia in 2014 and am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).  I trained at the June Shelton School in Dallas.  The Shelton School is the largest independent school worldwide for intelligent students with learning differences.

Our Dyslexia Program at Troup Elementary is Take Flight:  A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia.  This is a program developed and written by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia & Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Texas. https://scottishriteforchildren.org/care-and-treatment/dyslexia.

This is my 5th year in Troup and I love it!  We have the best students and parents and teachers and administrators!!  Please feel free to come by and visit our class to see how we learn and have fun at the same time.  My email address is [email protected].  You can also contact me through the school phone number at 903-842-3071.

I am the mother of two girls, Macey and Channing.  But best of all, I am the grandmother of twins with another one on the way in March of 2026!  Their names are Tate and Tulie (boy and girl). They are the loves of my life. God is so good!
