The Troup Volunteer Fire Department brought the Fire Safety House to Troup Elementary to teach fire safety. Students were able to meet Sparky, the fire dog, along with several firefighters. Inside the house, students learned about safety in the kitchen and around fireplaces, escaping through windows, never hiding in closets or under beds, and how to get low when there is smoke.
