Congratulations to Charitie Wright, Troup Elementary School's Teach of the Year!

Charitie does an outstanding job as a 5th grade Science teacher at Troup Elementary. She sets high expectations for her class and develops a great rapport with her students and parents. She possesses organizational skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently. Her initiative, drive, and enthusiasm are evident by all. She is a true team player.

Charitie’s passion for Elementary science is evident to anyone who meets her or has the privilege to visit her classroom. She has invested much of her personal time expanding her knowledge by attending workshops and conferences both in Texas and nationally. She enjoys sharing her knowledge by facilitating week long workshops in the summer through Texas Mining and Reclamation Association, moderating social media groups for science education related organizations, and mentoring teachers across the state of Texas.

Charitie began her career in education nearly 20 years ago as a special education paraprofessional. After many years as a part time student she earned her degree from The University of Texas at Tyler in 2010. Charitie has been a classroom teacher for nine years.
